Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod Results
What a fabulous but busy 2 days we had! Once again our music children not only performed well but represented our school brilliantly! I felt very proud to say we were from Silkstone SS. A big thank you to Mr Ramm for accompanying our choirs, to Ms Lewis and Ms Hampson for their hard work with the Instrumental children, to Ms Mansfield for helping us at the eisteddfod and to the many parents and grandparents who not only came to hear their children perform but also helped with transporting children to Inter-School Sport on the Friday! Congratulations to Lily Nguyen who competed in vocal solos at the Eisteddfod and gained Highly Commended awards.
String Ensemble – 3rd place
B.R.A.S.S.S. Boys’ Choir – 3rd place
Harmonies Choir – 1st place and winners of the Choral Society Cup (which we get to keep!)
Band Fanfare
Our next event coming up is Band Fanfare for the String Ensemble and Concert Band on Thursday 12 June. Forms and bus money need to be returned to school no later than Monday 11 June. Please keep the letter sent home as it will give you all the information you will need for this event. Should your child have misplaced this letter, you can obtain another form the Music Room or the office. No forms and money will be accepted on the day of the event. It is suggested that children wear their Music Uniform to school that day.
Stringtastic and Bandtastic Camps
The closing date has passed for these camps so forms are no longer able to be accepted.
